Mets' Ryan Cordell: Designated for assignment

Cordell was designated for assignment by the Mets on Wednesday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Cordell will be the roster casualty after the Mets added Ariel Jurado in a trade from the Rangers in a corresponding move. He spent just a week on the Mets' active roster, going 1-for-4 at the plate in limited action.
