Padres' Webster Rivas: Sent down Thursday

Rivas was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Rivas had served in a depth role behind the dish recently, and he hit .222 with a homer, four runs, three RBI and eight strikeouts in 10 games since July 1. He'll now head back to the minors after Austin Nola (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.
