Phillies' Bryce Harper: Starting as designated hitter

Harper (back) is starting Monday against the Nationals.

Harper exited Sunday's contest against the Blue Jays with lower-back stiffness, but he'll be healthy enough to serve as the designated hitter for the series opener in Washington. The 27-year-old has gone 7-for-17 with five extra-base hits and six RBI over the past five games.
