Trevor Richards: Elects free agency

Richards cleared waivers Friday and elected free agency.

Richards was dropped from Kansas City's 40-man roster Wednesday in order to make room for Jonathan Bowlan, and the former will now test his value in free agency. Richards, 32, has given up four earned runs in three MLB innings this season and owns a 4.19 ERA across 19.1 frames in Triple-A.
