Romano's contract was selected by the Yankees on Thursday.
Romano signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees in mid-May and posted a 3.47 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 23.1 innings across 18 relief appearances. The right-hander should be available out of the major-league bullpen going forward after right-hander Asher Wojciechowski was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
