Riley Cornelio RP | WAS
Nationals' Riley Cornelio: Working as opener
Cornelio will be the Nationals' opener for Tuesday's game in Detroit, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.
Cornelio was used as a starting pitcher some earlier this season in the minors and has recorded more than three outs in 13 of 16 appearances for the Nationals, so he'll be capable of covering multiple innings, if needed. Jackson Kent is poised to fill a bulk-relief role Tuesday.

Manuel Rodriguez RP | TB
Rays' Manuel Rodriguez: Expected back this week
Rodriguez (back) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list at some point this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rodriguez has been shelved since early September with a lower-back strain, but his activation is imminent after he made three rehab appearances for Triple-A Durham. The righty has appeared in only four games for the Rays in 2026, as he got a late start to the season while recovering from flexor tendon surgery.

Trent Harris RP | SF
Giants' Trent Harris: Picks up second save
Harris picked up the save in Monday's 5-2 win over the Twins, striking out one over a perfect inning.
Entering with a three-run cushion, Harris retired the side in order on 16 pitches (10 strikes) to secure his second save. The 27-year-old rookie has worked his way into a high-leverage role by going 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run. Overall, Harris owns a 2.14 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB over 21 innings.

Michael Lorenzen RP | TOR
Michael Lorenzen: Chooses free agency
Lorenzen elected free agency Monday.
It initially appeared as though Lorenzen had accepted an assignment with Triple-A Buffalo after he wasn't claimed on waivers, but the team has since clarified that the right-hander is pursuing an opportunity elsewhere. He's posted a 7.21 ERA and 1.88 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 127.1 innings during stops in Colorado and Toronto so far this year.

Spencer Bivens RP | KC
Royals' Spencer Bivens: Headed to Triple-A
Bivens was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.
Bivens failed to make an appearance out of the bullpen after being promoted to the big-league club Saturday. Tony Gonsolin (elbow) was activated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Rico Garcia RP | BAL
Orioles' Rico Garcia: Secures 10th save
Garcia picked up the save Monday against the Blue Jays, striking out two over a perfect inning.
Garcia made quick work of the Blue Jays in the ninth inning, retiring the side in order to secure his 10th save of the season. The right-hander has delivered scoreless outings in eight of his nine appearances this month, with his lone slip-up coming Friday against the Brewers, when he allowed two runs. Overall, Garcia has recorded 10 saves and 19 holds with a 3.14 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB across 66 innings.

Philip Abner RP | NYM
Giants' Philip Abner: DFA'd by Giants
Abner was designated for assignment by San Francisco on Monday.
Abner will lose his place on the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Bo Davidson, who is on track to make his major-league debut Monday night versus Minnesota. Abner posted a 7.11 ERA and 1.68 WHIP with 10 strikeouts across 19 innings between stops with Arizona and San Francisco this year.

Robert Suarez RP | ATL
Braves' Robert Suarez: Will be activated this week
Atlanta president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said Monday on 680 The Fan that it's "highly likely" Suarez (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday or Thursday, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.
Suarez made a rehab appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, striking out one in a scoreless inning. It was the veteran reliever's first outing in three months, as he's been slowly working his way back from right elbow inflammation. A healthy Suarez should be a big boost to the Atlanta bullpen, though it's unlikely he'll be available to pitch on back-to-back days for a bit.

Chad Dallas RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Recalled from Buffalo
The Blue Jays recalled Dallas from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
Dallas has been pitching exclusively in relief lately, logging a 2.65 ERA and 21:8 K:BB over 17 innings over his last 12 appearances (11 with Buffalo, one with Toronto). He'll be available for multiple innings out of the bullpen Monday versus the Orioles, and there's a good chance he'll be needed since starter Trey Yesavage (knee) will make an abbreviated start in his return from the IL.
