Carter will be waived by the Nets in order to accommodate Monday's signing of veteran Goran Dragic, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Dragic was traded from Toronto to San Antonio at the deadline and subsequently bought out by the Spurs, making him a free agent. In order to facilitate the signing, the Nets will part ways with Carter, who appeared in 46 games and averaged 3.6 points and 1.0 assists in 12.0 minutes per contest. Entering the break, Carter had played double-digit minutes in six of Brooklyn's last eight games amid injury issues and Kyrie Irving's frequent absences. The former West Virginia standout will look to catch on with another team in search of guard depth for the stretch run.
