Timberwolves' Ed Davis: Elevated to top backup role

Davis scored four points with seven rebounds, an assist and a block in 13 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Lakers.

Davis didn't play in Minnesota's first two games, but he'll now get significant minutes off the bench with Karl-Anthony Towns sidelined with a wrist injury. Naz Reid should get the bulk of minutes at center, but Davis has a chance to earn more playing time if he can provide a spark.
