Wideman will be on the roster for Team USA at the World Championships, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Wideman's opportunity most likely came about due to players sitting out in order to be ready for the 2016 World Cup, but it's an honor nonetheless. The blueliner notched six goals and seven apples in his first campaign with Ottawa this season, and it remains to be seen how much ice time he'll see on Team USA.
