Brewers relief pitcher Chris Narveson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained middle finger on his pitching hand, the club announced Monday. The Brewers were carrying an extra pitcher, so the corresponding move -- which will be made Tuesday -- will be to promote a position player from the minors.
Narveson, 31, has moved to the bullpen after being predominantly a starter for the first five years of his career. He's made two scoreless appearances thus far in 2013, allowing a hit and walk in two innings.
The Brewers beat the Cubs 7-4 on Monday to snap a five-game losing streak that followed a win in the season-opener.
