Reds starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo had a no-hitter against the Brewers through 7 1/3 innings Tuesday night. The only blemish through those 7 1/3 glorious innings from Arroyo came in the first inning, when he hit Ryan Braun with a pitch. Otherwise he had been perfect, stranding that lone baserunner.

Then, after getting one out in the eighth, Arroyo walked George Kottaras before allowing doubles to both Taylor Green and Corey Hart, ending the no-hitter and shutout.

Arroyo has four career shutouts, with the last one coming September 21, 2011.

There have been five no-hitters this season. Four by individual pitchers -- Philip Humber*, Jered Weaver, Johan Santana and Matt Cain* -- and one group effort, as the Mariners used six pitchers in a combined no-no. (And, "jinx" police, we posted these no-hitter watches for all five of those).

The last time the Reds had a no-hitter was when Tom Browning* did so September 16, 1988.
