Red Sox shortstop prospect Deven Marrero was promoted from Class A Salem to Double-A Portland Monday, according to the Boston Herald. The 2012 first-round pick (24th overall) hit .256 with a .334 slugging percentage and .676 OPS in 85 games for Salem.
Marrero, who is lauded for his defensive skills, had two home runs, 20 doubles, 21 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 50 runs.
