Diamondbacks infielder Eric Chavez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday due to a sprained knee, the team announced.
Chavez told reporters earlier Monday that he expected to be placed on the disabled list with the knee injury. He has hit .246/.346/.449 with three home runs and eight RBI in 69 at-bats.
