The glove that 12-year-old Jeffrey Maier used to catch Derek Jeter's tying home run for the Yankees against the Orioles in the 1996 ALCS is going on the auction block, the Associated Press reports.
An unidentified owner, who bought the glove directly from Maier, is putting the glove up for sale on Feb. 21 at Heritage Auction in New York.
Maier used the glove to catch a fly ball hit by Jeter in the opening game of the LCS against the Orioles. He appeared to interfere with a ball that otherwise could have been caught by right fielder Tony Tarasco.
Interference wasn't called, however, and the Yankees went on to win the game and series.
