Like the AL and NL, there are 15 teams in both the Grapefruit League and Cactus League. And because of that, one team in each league gets stuck playing split squad games each day. Half the team plays at home while the other half is on the road somewhere playing another game.

The Mariners played Saturday's split squad games in Arizona. Half the team played the Dodgers at home (LAD 8, SEA 4) while the other half traveled to play the Reds (SEA 5, CIN 2). To help fill out the split squad rosters, the Mariners called up a bunch of players from minor league camp, which is normal. Every team does it. Except most of the time they all wear the same uniform.

For whatever reason, the road Mariners had two different uniforms for Saturday's game against the Reds. The players in big league camp wore the team's teal jerseys while the players up from minor league camp wore dark blue jerseys. Check it out (photo via MLB.com's Mark Sheldon):

Unfortunately the game was not broadcast anywhere, so we can't go into the MLB.tv feed to screen cap some funny mixed jerseys plays. A shortstop in a teal jersey throwing to a first baseman in a dark blue jersey, that sort of thing.

Oh, and in case you're wondering why there's an Indians logo on the field for a Reds vs. Mariners game, it's because the Reds and Indians share Goodyear Park. So the Mariners wore two different jerseys and hung out in the Indians dugout. Spring training, y'all.
