Manager: Josh Beckett probably done for the year

Any optimism regarding Dodgers veteran starter Josh Beckett pitching again this season has vanished.

Don Mattingly told the Orange County Register that it's "probably not very possible" that Beckett will throw another pitch this season. He has been out for a month with a hip injury after compiling a 6-6 record and 2.88 ERA.

The 34-yeear-old Beckett could opt for surgery to repair the damaged hip.
