Jordan Zimmermann was masterful for the Nationals on Friday night. The right-hander limited the Rockies to one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six and didn't walk anyone, throwing 74 of his 106 pitches for strikes.

He would not factor in the decision however, as the bullpen coughed up a 4-1 lead, en route to the 5-4 loss to the Rockies.

This was a good bounceback effort for Zimmermann, who had given up five earned runs in his previous start on Saturday. He has been rather inconsistent lately, going 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA over his past six outings. He has posted 18 quality starts in 23 outings this season.
