Padres' Tyson Ross may start throwing split-change more often

Catcher Derek Norris joins the Padres after an offseason trade with the Athletics. He's reunited with former Athletics' pitcher Tyson Ross, and his knowledge of Ross could provide the starting pitcher with a new weapon. 

Norris told U-T San Diego's Dennis Lin that Ross has a split-change, that he used to throw more often while on the A's staff. 

"I think it's something we're going to be using a little more of," Norris said, "but obviously sparingly until he gets a good feel for it.
