Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman has a Grade 3 hamstring strain, which could put him on the shelf for an extended period of time, MLB.com reports.
A Grade 3 strain is the most severe type of hamstring strain. The Nationals have yet to issue an official statement on the injury or on a timetable for Zimmerman's recovery.
