Rays starting pitcher Roberto Hernandez couldn't get deep enough into the ballgame Tuesday in Boston to earn a quality start. In the end, it was another loss for the veteran hurler.

Hernandez fell to 5-11 on the season as he allowed three earned runs on seven hits and a walk over five frames. He needed 95 pitches to go that distance and struck out one batter. Hernandez's ERA is now at 4.92 on the season.

The Tampa starter has now allowed three earned runs in five consecutive outings and has gone at least five innings in each. That is consistency and that should keep him getting the ball every fifth day. Hernandez is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday at the New York Yankees.
