Royals reliever Tim Collins needs Tommy John surgery again
The left-hander underwent the procedure in March of 2015, but now he needs a second surgery.
Bad news for Royals reliever Tim Collins, as the team announced on Friday that the 26-year-old left-hander will undergo Tommy John surgery for a second time. Collins originally underwent the procedure in March of 2015, but the graft didn't take.

Potentially, Collins will be sidelined until the 2018 season.
Across parts of four big-league seasons and 228 relief appearances, Collins has pitched to a 3.54 ERA (117 ERA+) and a 1.82 K/BB ratio. He hasn't seen game action since September of 2014.
Collins, who's second-year arbitration-eligible, is under contract for 2015 at a salary of $1.48 million.
