SPRING SHENANIGANS: Yankees win on walk-off dropped fly ball
The Yankees won their first spring training game Wednesday. A walk-off dropped fly ball by the Tigers clinched the victory. Hooray spring baseball!
As of Wednesday, the Grapefruit League and Cactus League are in full swing. Spring training games have begun and teams will spend the next month or so preparing for the upcoming 2016 season.
The Yankees played and won their first spring training game of the year Wednesday, beating the Tigers 10-9 (recap) in a wild back and forth affair. The game ended on a walk-off dropped fly ball by Detroit left fielder Jason Krizan. Check it out:
Ah yes, spring baseball. Everyone is still working out the kinks. To be fair to Krizan, he was not the only outfielder to misplay a fly ball Wednesday. The wind was swirling in Tampa and several players took funny routes to fly balls.

The Yankees won the game after falling behind 7-0 in the fourth inning. If this was a regular season, this game would have been an instant classic. Check out the line score:

The Tigers took a 7-0 lead in fourth, the Yankees battled back to take an 8-7 in the seventh, then the Tigers took a 9-8 lead on Steven Moya's ninth inning home run. The Yankees then won on the dropped fly ball in the bottom of the ninth.
The best game no one will remember in 2016? Possibly!
