Yankees promote Bryan Mitchell, DFA Matt Daley

Starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell has been promoted by the Yankees from Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre. The team has also designated for assignment fellow right-hander Matt Daley.

The 23-year-old Mitchell, who has yet to make his major league debut, has performed better since his promotion to Triple-A. He is 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA in five starts. He has allowed 36 baserunners in 25 innings, however, with 21 strikeouts.
