  • Blue Jays' Dustin Antolin: Excelling at Triple-A Buffalo

Antolin appeared in 10 games for Triple-A Buffalo during June. He pitched 9.1 innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out 12.

The big right-hander had a rough May that included a disastrous outing in what turned out to be his one MLB chance this season. He rebounded nicely in June, and given his success at Triple-A Buffalo this year, Antolin may get another opportunity to prove himself at the big league level before 2016 is finished. Overall for the Bisons this season, Antolin has a 2.38 ERA and is 8-for-8 in save chances in 28 appearances (34 innings). However, the 26-year-old will have to show improved control (40:20 K:BB) before he'll get a second chance with the Jays.

  • Blue Jays' Dustin Antolin: Optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday

Antolin was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

Antolin only appeared once with the Blue Jays since having his contract purchased by them prior to Sunday's contest, but he gave up three runs on four hits and a walk in two innings of work. This was enough to get him shipped back to the minors, although he could be back up with Toronto if he continues his strong start to the season that he had with the Bisons. Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte was recalled to take his place in the Blue Jays bullpen.
