The Brewers designated Lopes for assignment Wednesday.

Lopes was recalled by Milwaukee from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Lopes has spent the majority of the season in Nashville, where he's hit just .223/.303/.404 across 356 plate appearances. However, he's able to play all over the field defensively, a positive with Avisail Garcia (back) currently sidelined. Luke Maile was optioned to Triple-A Nashville in the corresponding move.... Brewers' Tim Lopes: Called up from Triple-A
The Brewers recalled Lopes from Triple-A Nashville ahead of Saturday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.
Lopes was added to the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Tyrone Taylor (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The 26-year-old Lopes will likely fill a utility role while he's up with the big club. He came off the bench Saturday to play second base, going 1-for-2 with a base hit in his Milwaukee debut.... Brewers' Tim Lopes: Reinstated, optioned
Lopes (oblique) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Lopes had been with Triple-A Nashville on a rehab assignment since May 11, and he'll remain with the minor-league club now that he's fully healthy. The 26-year-old has slashed .236/.328/.382 with two home runs and nine RBI in 14 minor-league games this year. He could return to the Brewers as a utility option at some point in 2021.... Brewers' Tim Lopes: Moving rehab to Triple-A
Lopes (oblique) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Since Milwaukee placed Lopes on the 60-day injured list during spring training, he won't be eligible for activation until late May. At this point, Lopes seems to have moved past the right oblique strain that slowed him at the Brewers camp in Arizona, but he'll still need several minor-league games to get his timing right at the plate. Whenever he's reinstated from the IL, Lopes will likely serve as a utility player for Milwaukee, assuming he isn't optioned off the active roster.... See More ... See Less
Brewers' Tim Lopes: Plays in rehab game
Lopes (oblique) will play in an exhibition game for Double-A Biloxi on Monday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Lopes is on the 60-day injured list, meaning he won't be eligible to return to the active roster until the end of May. That apparently overstates how injured he actually is, however, as he's ready for game action nearly six weeks before he's eligible to return.... See More ... See Less
Brewers' Tim Lopes: Lands on 60-day injured list
The Brewers placed Lopes on the 60-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Lopes' move to the 60-day IL means that he won't be eligible to make his Brewers debut until at least late May. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly-signed Jackie Bradley.... See More ... See Less
Brewers' Tim Lopes: Claimed by Brewers
Lopes was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Tuesday.
Lopes' primary asset is his versatility, as he's appeared at second, third and both outfielder corners in his 87 career big-league games. His .252/.315/.362 career slash line is adequate enough for a bench option given that versatility, but it's unlikely to be enough to make him an interesting fantasy option if he winds up with unexpected playing time. He does at least have decent speed, however, stealing 11 career bases, which gives him at least a bit of fantasy value.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Designated for assignment
Lopes was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
The Mariners officially signed right-hander Chris Flexen on Friday, and Lopes was removed from the 40-man roster in a corresponding move. Lopes' slash line dropped slightly in 2020, as he hit .238/.278/.364 with two home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases over 46 games. However, his removal from the 40-man roster still comes as a bit of a surprise, and he could certainly find a role with another team on waivers.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Pops second homer
Lopes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the Athletics in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.
Lopes contributed an RBI single in an eight-run third inning for the Mariners and also scored during the rally on a two-run single by Dee Strange-Gordon. In the sixth, Lopes added a solo shot off reliever T.J. McFarland. The two-hit performance snapped an 0-for-12 skid for Lopes. He's hitting .245/.286/.374 with two homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored and five stolen bases in 45 games this year.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Playing well in September
Lopes, who went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Padres on Sunday, is hitting .350 (7-for-20) with four two-baggers, three RBI, one walk and four runs in seven September games.
Lopes returned to the active roster last Monday to serve as the 29th man for a doubleheader against the Athletics that day, and he has stuck around and started on four subsequent occasions. The 26-year-old utility man is slashing a modest .258/.299/.375 across 127 plate appearances in 2020, but 12 of his 31 hits have gone for extra bases.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Three doubles in matinee
Lopes got the start at DH and hit ninth in the first game of Monday's doubleheader, going 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in a 6-5 win over the A's.
He then started in right field and hit sixth in the nightcap but wasn't able to build on his earlier performance, going 0-for-2. Lopes had been officially added to the roster as the 29th man for the twin bill, but he may have done enough to stick around on the roster past Monday. On the season, the 26-year-old is slashing .257/.297/.381 through 34 games with a homer, five steals, 11 RBI and 12 runs.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Up as extra man
Lopes was called up to serve as the 29th man for Monday's doubleheader against Oakland.
Lopes spent most of the season in a fairly regular role for the Mariners before being optioned in early September. He did very little with his opportunities, hitting .240/.283/.340. He'll get another chance to prove himself Monday, however, as he'll bat ninth and serve as the designated hitter in the first game of the day.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Dropped from active roster
Lopes was optioned to the Mariners' alternate training site Friday.
Lopes hasn't done much at the plate in 106 plate appearances this season, hitting just .240/.340/.623. He'll make way on the roster for Dylan Moore (wrist), who returns from the injured list in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less
Mariners' Tim Lopes: Sits in second straight
Lopes is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Lopes will take a seat for the second straight game while Jose Marmolejos receives a turn as the Mariners' designated hitter. Considering Marmolejos will be picking up his fifth consecutive start Monday and bats from the left side of the plate, he could settle into the large side of a platoon with Lopes, who has posted a .623 OPS over 106 plate appearances this season....
