  • Indians' Luigi Rodriguez: Activated from DL

Rodriguez (hand) was activated from the disabled list by Double-A Akron on Wednesday, Indians Prospective reports.

The outfielder has made nine stops over his first six professional seasons and flashed potential a few times along the way. Rodriguez, 24, owns a career minor-league slash line of .276/.346/.417 over 553 games. Now healthy, he'll rejoin Double-A Akron after a rough first season (.222) there last year.

  • Indians' Luigi Rodriguez: On MiLB DL with broken hand

Rodriguez recently underwent surgery to repair a broken hand and will open the season on the minor-league disabled list.

Rodriguez is likely ticketed for Double-A Akron to begin the season; he slashed .222/.266/.335 in 170 plate appearances with that club in 2016. The 24-year-old isn't considered an impact prospect in the Indians system, and the broken hand will only hurt his chances of quickly climbing the minor-league ladder.

  • Indians' Luigi Rodriguez: Has been activated from suspension

Rodriguez (suspension) was activated Thursday from the restricted list.

Rodriguez was suspended 80 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug in August of 2015. At the time of his suspension, Rodriguez was hitting .293/.335/.492 for High-A Lynchburg. He will join Double-A Akron for the start of his 2016 campaign.
