  • Chin-Hui Tsao: Elects free agency

Tsao has declined his outright assignment to Triple-A, electing free agency, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.

A decent start with Triple-A Oklahoma City earned Tsao a chance with the Dodgers in late May, but he made just two appearances before going down with a triceps injury. Tsao missed the final four months of the season and was outrighted off the 40-man roster last week. The 35-year-old owns a 5.75 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 97 career innings at the major league level.

  • Dodgers' Chin-Hui Tsao: Moved to 60-day DL on Wednesday

Tsao (triceps) was moved to the 60-day DL on Wednesday, Jon Weisman of Dodger Insider reports.

Tsao has been solid at the Triple-A level this season, posting a 3.31 ERA over 17 appearances while successfully completing all six of his save attempts. The 35-year-old will now focus on his rehab and won't be eligible to return from the DL until mid-to-late August.

  • Dodgers' Chin-Hui Tsao: Heads to DL

Tsao (triceps) was placed on the 15-day DL on Monday, retroactive to Sunday.

Tsao was not available to pitch in the Dodgers' 17-inning game against San Diego on Sunday and it is now clear that a triceps strain was to blame. It doesn't appear to be terribly serious but the 34-year-old will need to spend some time on the DL to make a full recovery.

  • Dodgers' Chin-Hui Tsao: Contract selected by Dodgers

Tsao had his contract selected by the Dodgers on Thursday.

The Dodgers added some bullpen depth Thursday by purchasing Tsao's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He'll take the roster spot of Mike Bolsinger, who was optioned after a lackluster start Wednesday. Tsao made five appearances with the Dodgers last season, working a 10.29 ERA across 7.0 innings of work. He'll likely assume a middle relief role during his stint in order to give other relievers some rest.
