Colorado activated Davis (elbow) from the 15-day injured Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque. Davis has moved past the right elbow inflammation that sent him to the injured list April 30, but the Rockies will keep him on the farm for now. He tossed four scoreless innings on 58 pitches in a rehab start Wednesday with Albuquerque. The 26-year-old had struggled to a 6.17 ERA in three major-league starts (11.2 innings) prior to the IL stint.... See More ... See Less

Rockies' Noah Davis: Excels in first rehab start
Davis (elbow) struck out six and allowed two hits and one walk over four scoreless innings in his first rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Albuquerque. Davis was making his first appearance at any level in just over a month after the Rockies placed him on the 15-day injured list April 30 due to right shoulder inflammation. The 26-year-old was about as good as could have been expected in his return to action for Albuquerque, as he needed just 58 pitches to retire 12 hitters. The Rockies will likely want Davis to get a little more stretched out over at least one more rehab start before he's reinstated from the IL and moved back into the big-league rotation.... Rockies' Noah Davis: Out with elbow inflammation
The Rockies placed Davis on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation. Davis will miss at least two weeks with the inflammation, and he likely picked up the injury during Saturday's loss to the Diamondbacks. The Rockies have recalled Nick Mears from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Takes first loss of season
Davis (0-1) took the loss Saturday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings in an 11-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. He struck out two. Davis was completely dominated by the Arizona offense after giving up just one run over his first 9.2 innings pitched this year. The rookie was bound to have a bad game at some point, and he'll have plenty of chances for redemption going forward. The right-hander's next opportunity is tentatively scheduled to be against the Mets on the road.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Strikes out five in solid start
Davis did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and zero walks over 4.2 innings during a 4-3 loss to the Phillies. He struck out five. Making his second start in place of German Marquez (forearm), Davis once again served as an admirable fill-in option. He was tagged for two runs (one earned) in a shaky fourth that included an error, a hit by pitch and a run-scoring balk, but other than that, he was solid and got pulled in the fifth after giving up a two-out single to Nick Castellanos. Through two starts (9.2 innings), Davis holds a 0.93 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and a strong 10:3 K:BB.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Impressive in first start
Davis allowed three hits and three walks over five shutout innings during Sunday's loss to Seattle. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision. Davis sprinkled three walks and three singles throughout his first career MLB start. He forced inning-ending double plays in the third and fourth frames to escape danger. The 25-year-old righty had just six strikeouts in 12.2 Triple-A innings before Sunday's outing. With German Marquez (forearm) on the injured list, Davis will likely stick around for another start, which is projected to be in Philadelphia next week.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Recalled for start against SEA
Davis was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque by the Rockies on Sunday, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports. Davis is being recalled from the Isotopes to make a start against the Mariners on Sunday with German Marquez (forearm) on the injured list. The Rockies sent down Nolan Jones in a corresponding move. Davis should be stretched out for the start, but his lack of swing-and-miss stuff makes him a poor fantasy option in the short- and long-term.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Confirmed for start Sunday
Davis will start Sunday's series finale against the Mariners, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Davis will get the ball on Sunday to replace German Marquez (forearm) after Marquez was placed on the injured list. Davis has made three starts for Triple-A Albuquerque thus far with a 4.26 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over 12.2 innings. He gave up two runs in one inning in his only MLB appearance of 2022.... See More ... Rockies' Noah Davis: Likely candidate for callup
Davis is the likeliest candidate to fill the vacant spot in the Rockies' starting rotation, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports. German Marquez landed on the injured list Wednesday with right forearm inflammation and will miss at least two turns, though the Rockies don't need a fifth starter right away because of Thursday's scheduled off day. Davis, 25, holds a 4.26 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 6:7 K:BB through 12.2 innings (three starts) this season at Triple-A Albuquerque. He won't carry much streaming appeal if/when he does get the call.... Rockies' Noah Davis: To start Cactus League opener
Davis will start the Rockies' Cactus League opener Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports. Davis made his MLB debut in relief last season, but he has operated as a starter throughout the minor leagues and is being built up as an emergency rotation option this spring. The 25-year-old right-hander mostly split the 2022 campaign between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque, and he struggled to a combined 5.41 ERA in 138 frames.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Back with big-league club
Davis was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The 25-year-old didn't make his big-league debut while up with the Rockies for a week in September, but he'll rejoin the active roster for the final stretch of the season with Chad Kuhl (triceps) headed to the injured list. Davis posted a 5.41 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 154:62 K:BB in 138 innings between Double-A Hartford and Albuquerque this year, and he's a candidate to fill Kuhl's spot in the starting rotation for Wednesday's season finale against the Dodgers.... Rockies' Noah Davis: Optioned to Triple-A
Davis was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday. Davis spent just over a week with the major-league club, but he didn't make his major-league debut during that time. The right-hander will head back to Albuquerque after Alex Colome was reinstated from the bereavement list Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Called up by Rockies
Davis was recalled from Double-A Hartford on Friday. Davis has served exclusively as a starter at Hartford this season, posting a 5.54 ERA, 152:60 K:BB and 1.45 WHIP in 133.1 innings over 26 starts. While his performance wasn't particularly dominant, he'll have a chance to make his major-league debut over the final few weeks of the regular season. It seems likely that the right-hander will be available as a multi-inning option out of the Rockies' bullpen to begin his big-league career.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Noah Davis: Optioned to minor-league camp
Davis was optioned to the Rockies' minor-league camp Saturday. Davis was added to Colorado's 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, and he allowed no hits and a walk while striking out four in two relief innings this spring. He'll likely begin the 2022 campaign at High-A Spokane.... See More ... See Less
