Kriske pitched 36 moderately effective innings with Japan's Yokohama DeNa BayStars in 2022.     Kriske signed a contract Tuesday with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan, Sung Min Kim of The Athletic reports. Kriske split the 2021 campaign between the Yankees and Orioles, and he had a 14.29 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB over 11.1 innings. He'll now head to Japan to continue his career with MLB players currently locked out.

    Kriske (2-1) allowed one run on one hit with one strikeout over an inning of work, picking up the win in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Rangers. In just his second appearance since being claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Sept. 16, Kriske was made a winner thanks to a three-run outburst by Baltimore in the seventh. Though the right-hander did give up a solo homer to Jose Trevino, winning heals all wounds. He'll try to stick around on the big-league roster until the end of the season.

The right-hander entered in the ninth inning with the Yankees trailing by three, and by the time he retired three batters, Toronto had turned the contest into an 8-0 rout. Kriske opened the frame by serving up a homer to Teoscar Hernandez, then walked three of the next five batters before Marcus Semien belted a grand slam.
