Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith rode into Game 4 in style, however his play didn't match his grand entrance. Throughout the NBA Finals, Smith has struggled with his shot and this trend continued in Game 4.
Smith only scored 4 points, shooting 2-of-12 from the field and 0-of-8 from beyond the arc. This was similar to his Game 1 performance where he scored 9 points, shooting 3-of-13 from the field and 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Not surprising, when Smith has struggled in the Finals, the Cavs have lost.
Smith did have flashes of brilliance in Game 4 but he even knows that he has been playing quite poor. Of course since this is Smith, he put it a bit more colorfully.
J.R. Smith asked to assess his own game right now: "Horsesh--"

Don't hold back J.R..
In Cleveland's two wins, Smith scored in double-digits and his shooting hovered around 40 percent. The Cavs need Smith to be a solid scorer if they want to win the series. Perhaps the two days of rest before Game 5 will help Smith find his shooting stroke.
