Stephen Curry hit a lull in his 3-point shooting right before Thanksgiving. Well, he didn't actually hit a lull. He hit a lull for him. For any other shooter in NBA history, it would have been perfectly acceptable to make 10 3-pointers over the course of three games, even at the cost of making them at just a 32.2 percent clip. For Curry, this was an actual notable regression that dipped his season projection under 400 makes.
For those of you who don't remember, he broke his own NBA record last season with 286 made 3-pointers. Over the last four games, Curry has woken up with his shooting in spectacular fashion. He's made 24-of-41 (58.5 percent) from deep in those four games, including going 8-of-11 from long distance Wednesday night in Charlotte.
After that big run of 3-point shooting by Steph to get back to his standards, he's now on pace for 418 3-pointers made this season, which would beat his own record by 132 makes. To put that in perspective, 28 players made 132 3's or more last season.
Curry is on pace to break his own record on February 25 in Orlando. That's the 57th game of the season for the Warriors, and there's probably a good chance they won't even have five losses at that point. 300 made 3-pointers seems like a lock for Steph and if he breaks the 400 barrier, he'll be rivaling what a couple of teams still struggle to do.
