Rotowire

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Won't play Wednesday
Rotowire
Boston (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Kings.
Boston will miss his second consecutive contest due to a left ankle sprain, and his last chance to suit up before the All-Star break will come in Thursday's rematch with the Kings. With the 23-year-old on the shelf and CJ McCollum (personal) listed as questionable, Jordan Hawkins and Javonte Green could see a bump in minutes.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Gets upgrade to standard deal
Rotowire
Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said Tuesday that Boston will be converted from a two-way deal to a standard NBA contract, Erin Summers of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
With Boston now being upgraded to a spot on the Pelicans' 15-man roster, he'll be able to play without restrictions for the rest of the season, as he was approaching the limit of 50 active games allotted to two-way players. Before sitting out Monday's 137-101 loss to the Thunder with a left ankle sprain, Boston had appeared in 42 games for New Orleans, averaging 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 23.6 minutes per contest. Boston could struggle to find playing time when the Pelicans are at full strength, but he'll likely be part of the rotation anytime New Orleans is without one or two of its key regulars.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Downgraded to out
Rotowire
Boston (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Thunder.
Boston has been downgraded from questionable to out and will be joined on the sidelines by CJ McCollum (personal). In their absences, Javonte Green, Jordan Hawkins and Antonio Reeves are candidates for increased roles. Boston's next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against the Kings.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Iffy for Monday
Rotowire
Boston is questionable for Monday's game against the Thunder due to a left ankle sprain.
Boston has been in and out of the lineup of late as the team establishes a rotation, but he is now dealing with an ankle injury he presumably suffered during Saturday's loss to the Kings. Members of the starting five and Jordan Hawkins will likely absorb Boston's minutes if he is forced to miss Monday's contest.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Rejoins rotation
Rotowire
Boston registered 12 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and four steals across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 137-136 loss to the Mavericks.
Boston hadn't received any playing time in each of New Orleans' previous five contests but logged 21 minutes against Dallas. This was likely primarily due to the absence of Jordan Hawkins (illness). With Boston already playing 40 of the 50 allowed NBA games as a two-way player, he will likely be used sparingly moving forward unless he's converted to a standard deal.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Inactive for fourth straight game
Rotowire
Boston (coach's decision) was inactive Saturday in the Pelicans' 123-92 loss to the Hornets.
After making his Pelicans debut Oct. 29 and appearing in New Orleans' ensuing 38 games, Boston has been a healthy inactive for each of the last four contests. Even though he had been on his way out of the rotation before the recent string of inactive statuses, Boston likely would have been available off the bench if he hadn't been approaching his limit of 50 active games for the season as a two-way player. The Pelicans could move Boston off his two-way deal and convert him to a standard NBA contract in the near future, but until that happens, expect the team to be judicious with his usage since he can be active for just 11 more games under his current contract.

Boston (leg) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the 76ers.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Exits with injury
Rotowire
Boston exited Wednesday's game against Portland and went back to the locker room with an apparent right leg injury and did not return, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Boston committed an intentional foul to sub himself out and immediately went back to the locker room with what looks to be a right leg injury. Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Scores 17 points off bench
Rotowire
Boston amassed 17 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and four steals over 19 minutes during Thursday's 128-111 loss to the Rockets.
Boston had been trending in the wrong direction of late following a strong, albeit unsustainable, start to the campaign when he was forced to step up amid a rash of injuries. Boston has been playing exclusively off the bench since the beginning of December, and while that role limits his fantasy upside in most formats, he's still a serviceable streaming option in some slates. This 17-point outing was the sixth time he scored in double digits across 10 December appearances, but only the second time he did it over his previous six. The strong performance Thursday could mean he's showing signs of ending the woeful stretch that saw him shoot just 40.9 percent from the floor between Dec. 12 and Dec. 22.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Leading scorer off bench Sunday
Rotowire
Boston registered 20 points (7-15 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 31 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 119-104 loss to the Pacers.
The fourth-year wing led the Pelicans in scoring on the night, hitting 20-plus points for the first time since Nov. 8. Boston continues to have a significant role for an undermanned New Orleans roster even after his shift back to the second unit, scoring in double digits in six of the last seven games while averaging 14.3 points, 2.9 boards, 1.9 threes, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 24.6 minutes a contest.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Scores 17 points in loss
Rotowire
Boston logged 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 121-116 loss to the Spurs.
With Brandon Ingram out indefinitely with an ankle sprain, there's suddenly an opportunity for Boston to be very relevant in fantasy leagues as a key part of the second unit offense. He's proven to be a reliable contributor when the minutes are there, and through the first five games of December, he's averaging 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.8 three-pointers in just 22.8 minutes per contest.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Drops 19 points in loss
Rotowire
Boston registered 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.
Boston continues to make the most of his opportunities, as he scored in double digits for the second straight game. Despite moving back to the bench, Boston has maintained a meaningful role on a team that has now lost nine straight games. If and when the Pelicans are fully healthy, Boston could very well fall out of the rotation altogether. Until that happens, he should be able to provide serviceable production on both ends of the floor.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Moving to bench
Rotowire
Boston isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Warriors.
Boston will head to the bench with the returns of Brandon Ingram and Trey Murphy to the starting five. Boston is averaging 7.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 16.5 minutes across his four appearances coming off the bench this season.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Sniffs double-double in loss
Rotowire
Boston recorded 12 points (4-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and a steal across 36 minutes in Saturday's 104-99 loss to the Lakers.
Boston had a rough shooting performance Saturday and needed 12 shots to score 12 points. Even though Boston finished just two boards away from a double-double, the shooting woes continue to plague him. He's now failed to reach the 15-point mark in three of his last four appearances while shooting 17-for-48 from the field in that stretch.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Struggles with shot Wednesday
Rotowire
Boston provided eight points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 106-88 loss to the Thunder.
Boston scored in double digits in five games in a row amid a stretch in which he got promoted to the starting lineup due to the rash of injuries the Pelicans are going through. However, he's struggled massively with his shot over his last two contests, scoring a combined 15 points while going 6-for-23 from the field in that span. He's done enough to remain valuable in fantasy due to his contributions in other categories, however, as he's tallied 17 boards, 14 assists and five steals in that two-game stretch as well. That said, he needs to improve his scoring figures because he'll remain with a prominent role in the Pelicans' offensive scheme as long as they stay as depleted as they are right now.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Packs stat sheet
Rotowire
Boston logged seven points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt), seven rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Monday's 107-105 loss to Brooklyn.
Boston took a step back in terms of scoring after posting a 26-point night Friday against Orlando. However, he set new top marks on the season in rebounds, assists and steals to make up for a sluggish shooting performance. It's clear Boston will continue to handle a prominent role in the offense until his squad can get healthy.
Boston registered 26 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 115-88 loss to the Magic.
Boston is the next man up in a depleted Pelicans backcourt, and he's putting up decent numbers since being handed a more prominent role. He's scored at least 20 points in two of his three starts and is averaging 17.6 points per game in games in which he's logged at least 20 minutes, a trend that should continue for the foreseeable future.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Shines in first start of season
Rotowire
Boston finished with 20 points (9-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 37 minutes during Monday's 118-100 loss to Portland.
Boston got the start Monday for a depleted Pelicans team and responded by posting his best game of the campaign. Don't be surprised if Boston, who has now scored in double digits in three straight outings, remains in the starting lineup if the Pelicans don't get Jordan Hawkins (back), Zion Williamson (thigh/hamstring) or Trey Murphy (hamstring) back soon. Herbert Jones (shoulder), CJ McCollum (thigh) and Dejounte Murray (hand) all remain out for multiple weeks.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Gets start Monday
Rotowire
Boston will enter the starting lineup in Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
With Jordan Hawkins (back) joining CJ McCollum (thigh) and Dejounte Murray (hand) on the sideline, Boston will receive his second career start Monday. The 22-year-old has found some opportunity in a depleted backcourt, and he has averaged 7.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals across 16.5 minutes per game in four regular-season appearances.
