Derek Wolfe: Announces retirement
Wolfe announced his retirement Friday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Wolfe underwent a second hip surgery in mid-June and was subsequently released by the Ravens with an injury settlement. The 2012 second-round pick was drafted by the Broncos and spent the majority of his career in Denver before signing with Baltimore in 2020. Across nine seasons, Wolfe totaled 350 tackles, 34 sacks, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one defensive touchdown.

Derek Wolfe: Reaches settlement
Wolfe (hip) was released by the Ravens with an injury settlement Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Wolfe underwent a second hip surgery Monday, after previously having surgery in January. He initially suffered the injury in August of 2021 and never played last season. Wolfe will now likely focus on getting healthy so he can resume his career, whenever that may be.

Wolfe underwent a second hip surgery Monday, per Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun.
Wolfe missed the entire 2021 campaign due to a lingering hip issue and underwent surgery in late January to address the situation. However, the veteran defensive end appears to have hit a snag in his recovery and elected to undergo a second procedure. His return timetable remains unclear, but at this point, it'd be surprising to see him available for training camp.

Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Undergoes surgery
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Wolfe had hip labrum surgery after missing the entire 2021 campaign, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Wolfe signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Ravens in March, but he suffered a hip injury in mid-August that sidelined him to start the season before Baltimore eventually put him on injured reserve. He was designated to return at the end of October, but he didn't progress as well as hoped and was ruled out for the rest of the year after he wasn't activated before the expiration of the 21-day window. It's unclear if the surgery will impact his ability to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Wolfe (back/hip) will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the 2021 season, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
The 31-year-old missed his 21-day practice window after being designated for return Oct. 26. Wolfe will finish the season without ever appearing in a game.

Wolfe was designated to return from injured reserve in late October, but he apparently hasn't progressed as expected and may spend the rest of the season on the shelf. The 31-year-old's 21-day practice window ends Tuesday, and he'll officially be out for the season if not activated by that point. Wolfe (back) won't play Sunday against the Vikings, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Wolfe's back reportedly still "isn't feeling good" according to coach John Harbaugh. The Ravens don't want to rush their defensive end back from injury too quickly, so they'll be cautious with his return. Expect Justin Madubuike to continue to receive a large portion of snaps at defensive end until Wolfe is able to make his return to the field. Wolfe's next chance to play will be in Week 10 against the Dolphins.

The Ravens designated Wolfe (back) to return from injured reserve Tuesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Wolfe returned to practice Monday, which will start the 21-day window for him to be added to the active roster. If he isn't, he will return to IR for the remainder of the season. The 31-year-old defensive end totaled 51 tackles, two pass deflections, one fumble recovery and one sack across 14 appearances during his first season with the Ravens, but he has yet to play this year. His return would be a huge plus for a defense that allowed 41 points to Joe Burrow and the Bengals during Week 7.

Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Lands on IR
The Ravens placed Wolfe (hip/back) on injured reserve Saturday.
Wolfe has yet to suit up this season and was already ruled out for Week 4. The 31-year-old defensive end will miss at least three more weeks after the move to IR. Justin Madubuike and Broderick Washington will continue to be relied upon to fill in during Wolfe's absence.
