DaVonte Lambert: Shown door in Carolina
The Panthers waived Lambert on Friday, Tim Weaver of USA Today reports.
Lambert hasn't played an NFL snap since the 2016 season, so it's not surprising that he didn't make the team in Carolina.

Lambert registered one sack in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.
Lambert was sidelined for the entire 2017 season after dislocating his wrist in Week 1. Since returning to the field this preseason, Lambert has recorded three total tackles. If he makes the final 53-man roster, he will likely serve in a backup role during the regular season.

Buccaneers' DaVonte Lambert: Out for rest of game
Lambert (wrist) will not return to Saturday's game against the Browns, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Heading into his second season, the Auburn product is vying for a backup defensive end role with the possibility of stealing defensive snaps from Robert Ayers. Lambert recorded only 14 tackles in 11 games during the 2016 season. If healthy, his next chance to play will be Thursday against the Redskins.

Buccaneers' Lavonte David: Full participant in Wednesday practice
David (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, the team's official site reports.
The Pro Bowl linebacker apparently sustained a minor shoulder ailment at some point during Week 1, but he was still on the field for all 65 defensive snaps against the Falcons. Given his full particpation Wednesday, David doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing the Week 2 tilt against the Cardinals.

Buccaneers' Lavonte David: Second in tackles on linebacking corps in Week 1
David totaled eight tackles (six solo), including three for loss, in Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Falcons.
Althoug he was overshadowed by fellow linebacker Kwon Alexander's whopping 17 stops, David certainly played an integral role in a run defense that limited a talented Falcons ground attack to a paltry 2.4 yards per rush. He also led the team in tackles for loss, successfully knifing through the line on three different occasions. Although Alexander may well pace the tackle tally on most weeks from his spot in the heart of defensive coordinator Mike Smith's scheme, David figures to still amass more than enough numbers to render him one of the more valuable IDP options in the league.
