Cottom (Achilles) was released by the Seahawks on Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Cottom may still be in recovery from the Achilles injury he suffered last August. Fellow fullback Kyle Coleman was signed to take his place on the Seahawks' 90-man roster.

Seahawks' Brandon Cottom: Returning to Seattle
Cottom (Achilles) signed a contract with the Seahawks on Thursday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Cottom spent last preseason with the Seahawks, but he failed to make the final roster cut after tearing his Achilles. The team has not announced any injury updates, but Cottom's return to Seattle is a promising sign that the ailment is behind him. He'll now compete with Joe Sommers and Marcus Lucas for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Brandon Cottom: Waived by Seahawks
The Seahawks waived/injured Cottom (Achilles) on Saturday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
During Wednesday's training camp practice, Cottom sustained a potential Achilles tear. The Seahawks' move Saturday seems to confirm those fears, but the fullback/tight end will land on their injured reserve list, if he clears waivers.
