Pruitt was released with an injury designation following his only season in the Bayou. The San Jose State product projects solid size at the cornerback position and could find a new home sooner than later.

Pruitt was waived/injured Tuesday, but the team announced that he will be placed on IR after clearing waivers Wednesday. In his absence, De'Vante Harris and Cortland Finnegan could see an increase in playing time.

Pruitt suffered a torn patellar tendon during the Saints' third preseason game Friday versus the Steelers. Provided he clears waivers, he's likely destined for New Orleans' injured reserve list.

Pruitt tore his patellar tendon during Friday's preseason defeat to the Steelers, Kristian Garic of WWL Radio New Orleans reports.
What was initially believed to be an ACL tear has been reclassified after an MRI. While Pruitt's season remains in peril, the undrafted free agent is destined to land on one of the injured reserve lists in advance of Week 1.
