Keeon Johnson: Cut loose by Giants
Johnson was waived by the Giants on Monday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
Johnson, an undrafted free agent in 2017, spent last season on the Giants' injured reserve list after breaking his foot in a mid-August practice. He was able to rejoin the team for spring workouts earlier this offseason and appears to be back to full strength, but has now been released as the Giants look to evaluate other options. Johnson will look to latch on elsewhere with the hope of impressing someone else during minicamp or training camp.

Giants' Keeon Johnson: Catching passes during spring workouts
Johnson (foot) turned heads at spring workouts Wednesday by making a leaping grab on a pass from quarterback Davis Webb, John Schmeelk of the Giants' official site reports.
Johnson also impressed in training camp last summer, but he broke his foot before the start of the regular season and consequently spent the 2017 campaign on injured reserve. However, the receiver's ability to run routes suggests his foot is now healthy. While it's possible the Giants bring in additional competition at receiver this offseason, Johnson is currently set to compete for a depth role behind the top trio of Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Roger Lewis.
