Player Outlook
The Giants selected Hyatt in the third round of the NFL Draft from Tennessee, and he could be an impact player right away. He's worth drafting with a late-round pick in all redraft leagues, and he's a second-round selection in rookie-only drafts for Dynasty leagues. The Giants have a crowded receiving corps with Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, Wan'Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard and Parris Campbell, but none of those guys are stars, especially with Robinson and Shepard coming off injuries. Hyatt could establish himself as a go-to option for Daniel Jones, and hopefully that's the case in 2023. Hyatt won the Biletnikoff Award in 2022 when he had 67 catches for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns at Tennessee, and he could play inside and outside for the Giants, which is vital. The more versatile Hyatt is, the more likely he'll stay on the field, and that could lead to quality production in his rookie campaign.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Week 13 Waiver Priority List

The Giants are on a bye in Week 13, but I want to stash Hyatt in deeper leagues. I'm hopeful he can make an impact down the stretch for the Giants and Fantasy managers. In Week 12 against New England, Hyatt had five catches for 109 yards on six targets, and he could emerge as the best receiver in New York to close the year -- and maybe next season as well. Hyatt is worth adding for up to 5 percent of your FAB.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Week 13 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

The Giants passing game has been abysmal pretty much all season, and there really hasn't been much to get excited about here, especially since Darren Waller's injury. However, Hyatt put together the best game of his young career Sunday, leading the team in every receiving category for his first 100-yard game of the season. It's just one game, and his quarterback is still Tommy DeVito, so Hyatt certainly isn't a must-add option, especially with the Giants facing a bye in Week 13. But he heads into the bye week with some momentum and could be a late-season breakout.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: First 100-yard game of NFL career

Hyatt caught five of six targets for 109 yards in Sunday's 10-7 win over the Patriots. Hyatt got free downfield for catches of 29 and 41 yards en route to a career high in receiving yards. Fellow deep threat Darius Slayton (neck) was active after being doubtful heading into Sunday's game but was limited to 16 yards on three targets while Hyatt capitalized on his increased role with the best game of his rookie season. The Giants' third-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft (73rd overall) will look to build on this promising performance in Week 14 against the Packers following a Week 13 bye.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Good to go vs. Commanders

Hyatt has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Washington, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Hyatt was placed in the concussion protocol after this past Sunday's 49-17 loss to the Cowboys, but he has recovered in time to face the Commanders in Week 11. The rookie wide receiver has a pair of catches over 40 yards among his 11 receptions this season, but Hyatt will be catching passes from third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito on Sunday.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Progressing through concussion protocol

Hyatt (concussion) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Hyatt suffered a concussion this past Sunday at Dallas, and after kicking off Week 11 prep with no on-field work Wednesday, he made noticeable progress one day later by putting in some work. Still, he likely has multiple steps to take in his quest through the protocol for head injuries, the last of which will be gaining clearance from an independent neurologist. Hyatt will need to do so by Saturday in order to be available Sunday in Washington.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Misses practice Wednesday

Hyatt (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Hyatt entered the concussion protocol in the second half of Sunday's 49-17 loss to the Cowboys, making his status for Week 11 against the Commanders uncertain. The rookie third-round pick will need to clear the five-step protocol before being allowed to resume game action.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Won't return Sunday

Hyatt won't return to Sunday's game against the Cowboys due to a concussion, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Hyatt went to the locker room in the second half of Sunday's matchup and will be unavailable down the stretch due to his concussion. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for next Sunday's game against the Commanders.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Posts another quiet effort

Hyatt finished Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Raiders with two catches on five targets for 19 yards. Hyatt's five targets tied for second on the team, but those opportunities yielded limited production. The rookie speedster did at least manage to turn things around a bit after he failed to garner a target at all last week against the Jets, but Hyatt's role and performance continue to be volatile. He has failed to register a catch in four contests this season, but Hyatt also posted an 89-yard effort in Week 2 against Arizona and a 75-yard performance in Week 7 against Washington. Daniel Jones may have suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday, leaving the Giants' already struggling passing game potentially in the hands of rookie UDFA Tommy DeVito and/or veteran backup Matt Barkley. That doesn't help Hyatt's outlook, but even with Jones under center the young wideout hasn't been able to put up the type of consistent numbers that would make him a reliable fantasy asset.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

It feels like Hyatt is the next rookie receiver on the verge of breaking out, and I'm excited to see what he can do with more targets. In his past two games with Tyrod Taylor under center for the Giants, Hyatt has five catches for 96 yards on nine targets. His big-play ability was on display against Washington in Week 7 with two catches for 75 yards, and we'll see how Hyatt does once Daniel Jones (neck) is healthy. Hyatt has played at least 71 percent of the snaps in each of the past two games, and hopefully bigger stat lines will start to happen. He's worth stashing in all leagues for up to 5 percent of your FAB.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Week 8 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

The Giants probably need to do more to get Hyatt involved, because they desperately need what he brings to the table, which is downfield playmaking. He only had the two catches Sunday, but both went for 30-plus yards – and four of his nine catches overall have done so. The rest of the team? They've combined for two catches of 32 and 31 yards total. I can't say Hyatt is a high-priority add, or someone you're likely to be starting in Week 8 (especially with no teams on bye), but there's plenty of upside on an offense that is still absolutely desperate for someone to step up in the passing game.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Big-play threat in Sunday's win

Hyatt caught two of five targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Commanders. The rookie caught passes of 33 and 42 yards while flashing the speed that caused the Giants to trade up in this year's draft to select him in the third round. Hyatt doesn't offer much more than the ability to stretch the field at this stage of his career, but four of his first nine NFL receptions have gone for 30 yards or more. Regardless of whether Daniel Jones (neck) or Tyrod Taylor is under center in Week 8, Hyatt could have a hard time making an impact against a stingy Jets secondary.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Stashes (WR Preview)

Hyatt flashed in Week 6 and his speed gives the Giants a downfield element they are desperately missing. You can't start him with any confidence until he becomes a full-time player, but that's the logical next step with the way the Giants season is going.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Sees more work with minor impact

Hyatt caught three of four targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Bills. Hyatt played on 73 percent of New York's offensive snaps, the highest mark of his career thus far. His three catches also were a campaign high, though he was able to turn the receptions into only 21 yards. The rookie looked like he could emerge as the Giants' much-needed deep threat when he caught two passes for 89 yards Week 2 against Arizona, but his other five receptions this season have gone for just 31 combined yards. While the increased snap count Sunday is an encouraging sign for his outlook going forward, the Giants' passing game as a whole has struggled this season, and Hyatt has yet to put up the type of production that should inspire confidence in fantasy managers.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Quiet again Week 4

Hyatt caught both of his targets for 10 yards Monday in a Week 4 loss to the Seahawks. Hyatt was again mostly a nonfactor in the passing game, as his only two catches went for three and seven yards, respectively. If there's a positive takeaway for fantasy managers who roster the rookie wideout, it's that he tallied a season-high 27 offensive snaps, per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv, and was on the field more than fellow wideout Isaiah Hodgins for the first time this season. Hyatt flashed his big-play potential when he racked up 89 yards on two receptions in New York's only win so far Week 2 against Arizona, but he's also been shut out twice this season in addition to Monday's quiet performance. The very low weekly floor makes Hyatt difficult to hang on to in fantasy, though it may be worth giving him another week to see if the increased snap count becomes a trend as the Giants look to light a fire under what has been a mostly abysmal passing game thus far.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Gets no targets in Thursday's loss

Hyatt didn't receive any targets against the 49ers in a Week 3 loss Thursday. Hyatt provided a boost to the Giants' passing game with two catches for 89 yards against Arizona in Week 2, but he didn't see a single ball thrown his way against San Francisco. This was the second time the rookie speedster has been shut out in receptions through three games this season, and he's yet to be on the field for more than 22 offensive snaps in any contest. With that context in mind, Hyatt isn't a reliable option in fantasy at this point in the campaign.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Invisible in NFL debut

Hyatt didn't catch his lone target in Sunday's Week 1 40-0 blowout loss against the Cowboys. The Giants drafted Hyatt in the third round of this year's draft to provide a boost to their passing game, but the team's offense struggled as a whole against Dallas' stifling defense Sunday. Hyatt was on the field for just 25 of New York's 70 offensive snaps, fourth-most among wideouts on the team behind Darius Slayton (47 snaps), Parris Campbell (47) and Isaiah Hodgins (42). It's uncertain where Hyatt stands in the pecking order, but he may struggle to produce if he's on the field less than half the time. The rookie will look to make a stronger impression in next Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Fine after overheating Wednesday

Hyatt is returning to practice Thursday after exiting early Wednesday due to heat exhaustion, John Fennelly of Giants Wire reports. He's far from the first rookie to struggle with heat and resulting fatigue during his first NFL training camp. The third-round pick still has a wide range of playing-time outcomes for his debut campaign, as the Giants' WR room offers quantity more so than quality, with up to seven or eight players potentially in the mix for top-three roles. Hyatt will probably come off the bench Week 1 but still has plenty of time to make an impression before then.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Leaves practice early

Hyatt walked off the field with trainers Wednesday after sustaining an apparent injury during 7-on-7 drills, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. The Giants have yet to shed light on the nature or severity of Hyatt's injury. The rookie third-round pick is staring down the opportunity to compete for a significant role on offense alongside Darius Slayton or Isaiah Hodgins, but he'll first need to impress over the course of training camp and the preseason.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Healthy for spring practices

Hyatt (hamstring) did some drills at rookie minicamp but didn't participate in 7-on-7s, Paul Schwartz of the NY Post reports. Hyatt hurt his hamstring at the NFL Combine, but only after running a 4.40 40 time and posting a 133-inch broad jump and 40-inch vertical. The rookie third-round pick reportedly is working on gaining weight after checking in at only 176 pounds at the combine, recently noting that he's up to 180 and wants to play at about 190. Hyatt should be cleared for training camp, if not spring practices, and he could challenge Darius Slayton or Isaiah Hodgins for perimeter snaps early on.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Links up with G-Men

The Giants selected Hyatt (hamstring) in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 73rd overall. Hyatt is an interesting receiver prospect and the Giants make for an interesting landing spot. New York has a crowded receiver room with a mix of vets and developmental projects like Wan'Dale Robinson. Hyatt, who won the Biletnikoff Award in 2022 for Tennessee, may not be a "complete" receiver, but his big-play ability is for real. He averaged 18.9 yards per reception in 2022 and caught 15 touchdowns. However, Hyatt has a light frame at 6-foot and 176 pounds and had an interesting role as a vertical option out of the slot, so it remains to be seen how that will translate. If nothing else, Hyatt brings a speedy downfield element to the Giants offense.
