Jets' Lawrence Cager: Promoted to roster as No. 4 WR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cager was promoted from the practice squad to the Jets' active roster ahead of their Week 3 trip to Indianapolis, Andy Vasquez of USA Today Sports reports.

Cager should see some game action against the Colts as one of four active wide receivers, along with Chris Hogan, Josh Malone and Braxton Berrios (hamstring), who is listed as questionable. If Berrios can't go, the undrafted free agent out of Georgia would see the field in three-wide sets.

Lawrence Cager: Waived by Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Jets waived Cager (knee) on Saturday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

It's likely Cager is still carrying an injury tag since he had an MRI last week, so if he clears waivers he could land on the Jets' injured reserve. Regardless, the Jets' willingness to let Cager go signals that their receiver corps may not be as injured as it appears.

Jets' Lawrence Cager: Not practicing Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cager (knee) did not practice Saturday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

It's unclear what the result of Cager's recent MRI yielded, but we at least know for certain the undrafted free-agent rookie is not practicing Saturday. It's a critical distinction given a number of other Jets wideouts are also missing time due to various injuries.

Jets' Lawrence Cager: Dealing with knee issue
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cager is set for an MRI on his swollen knee Wednesday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

This is tough news for the Georgia product, considering he is in the mix for a roster spot heading into the 2020 season. It's unclear how Cager picked up the injury, however, he won't return to the field until he gets the full go-ahead from the training staff after his MRI.

Jets' Lawrence Cager: Competing for roster spot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cager (ankle) will compete for a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster in training camp, Steve Lichtenstein of WFAN Radio reports.

Cager and former first-round pick Josh Doctson could be competing for the same roster spot, so if the undrafted rookie is able to showcase utility on special teams, he could see his chances of sticking with Gang Green increase. The Georgia product missed the final four games of his last season of college due to an ankle injury, from which he's now fully recovered.
