Viktor Loov: Headed overseas
Loov agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Helsinki Jokerit of the KHL on Friday.
Loov was brought over by the Wild from the Devils in exchange for a pair of forwards in order to bolster Minnesota's blue-line depth. While the 25-year-old did earn a couple of call-ups, he was never able to crack the lineup. Instead, the Swede played 60 games in the minors this year -- split between Iowa and Binghamton -- tallying five goals and 19 assists. Without an NHL contract in hand, the 2012 seventh-round pick will look to revitalize his career in the KHL.

Wild's Viktor Loov: Not able to lace up in 2017-18
Loov just appeared in the minors during 2017-18, but recorded a combined 24 points (five goals, 19 assists) in 60 games with AHL Binghampton and AHL Iowa.
During the season Loov was constantly on the move, as after starting the season with New Jersey, he was shortly bumped down to the minors before being traded Feb. 8 to Minnesota, where he served as an emergency defensemen before bumping down to the minors once again. The Swede will be a restricted free agent, and since he's been playing in the minors for four seasons now, a two-way contract seems the most likely option -- although if he stays in the Twin Cities he'll likely need to continue growing his game before he can draw into a deep Minnesota blue line.

Wild's Viktor Loov: Bumped down to AHL
Loov was sent down to AHL Iowa on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
The Swede wasn't able to receive any ice time during his first stint in Minnesota, and will head to the minors as a result of Nick Seeler earning a promotion. Loov has posted 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 36 games this season in the AHL, but with Minnesota boasting a deep defensive core, it'll be tough for him to find playing time with the big club.

Wild's Viktor Loov: Heads to big club
Loov was recalled from AHL Iowa on Friday.
Loov was just traded to Minnesota on Thursday, so he didn't even suit up for Iowa. Instead, the 25-year-old defenseman accrued five goals, 17 points and 45 PIM through 36 games with AHL Binghamton. His services are needed immediately with the big club to provide depth while Jonas Brodin nurses a broken hand. Regardless, don't expect Loov to rack up enough playing time to become a consistent fantasy performer.

Wild's Viktor Loov: Traded to Minnesota
The Wild acquired Loov from the Devils in exchange for forwards Christoph Bertschy and Mario Lucia on Thursday.
Devils GM Ray Shero should be very excited about this deal. He flipped Loov -- a guy the team waived ahead of the season -- for Lucia, who was a 2011 second-round pick, as well as Bertschy, a 23-year-old Swiss skater who should be a popular AHL call-up when injuries threaten the team up front. This transaction doesn't mean a whole lot from a fantasy perspective, but it helps New Jersey shore up its depth as the team bids for a playoff spot within an extremely competitive Metropolitan Division.

Devils' Viktor Loov: Hits waiver wire
Loov was placed on waivers by the Devils on Saturday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
New Jersey made a trade with Toronto for Loov ahead of last season's trade deadline and then got him under a two-way contract for one year with a base salary set at $650,000. Assuming he clears waivers, expect him to wind up with AHL Albany to start the 2017-18 season.

Devils' Viktor Loov: Signs two-way deal with New Jersey
Loov signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $650,000 with the Devils on Tuesday.
After being acquired from the Maple Leafs midseason, Loov spent the entire rest of the campaign with AHL Albany, where he managed no points, six penalty minutes and a minus-6 rating in 10 contests. The 24-year-old can seemingly use more seasoning before he's ready for NHL action, so expect to see him in the minors at the beginning of the 2017-18 season.

Devils' Viktor Loov: Acquired in trade from Leafs
Loov was dealt to New Jersey on Saturday, with Toronto receiving recently waived forward Sergey Kalinin, The Record reports.
Both players involved in this swap are considered organizational depth options at this juncture. Expect Loov to start out in the minors, with a call-up possible if Kyle Quincey (upper body) happens to experience a setback in his rehab. Loov is an imposing Swedish blueliner -- - plenty of his countrymen have thrived in the NHL (here's looking at you, Victor Hedman) -- but he's quite raw and in the infancy of his career. Still, keep Loov in mind for future fantasy seasons.

Loov hasn't been on the ice since Feb. 25 while dealing with an undisclosed injury. His assignment to the Marlies is likely for conditioning, which means his return to NHL action could be in the near future if his AHL stint goes accordingly.

Loov, who was an emergency recall himself, will miss his second game with an injury himself. In spite of playing in a meager four outings in the NHL this season, the defenseman did snag a pair of assists in those contests. At this point, the Maple Leafs have given up on making the playoffs and are unlikely to rush the 23-year-old back any time soon.

The injury situation in Toronto keeps getting worse and worse, as Loov, an emergency recall, has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup. Loov joins six defensemen on the active roster for the Leafs. Loov picked up an assist on the game-winning goal Thursday in a 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes.
After notching an assist in his NHL debut last Thursday, Loov missed the scoresheet in the next two games and in fact still has just one NHL shot on goal. With just 11 points in 48 AHL games this year and rock-bottom ice time with the Leafs -- he skated a miserably low 9:11 in this one -- it's not wise to bet on the young Swede providing much more production.

Maple Leafs' Viktor Loov: Promoted to parent club
Loov was recalled from AHL Toronto on an emergency basis Thursday.
Known for his ability to mash the opposition, Loov should be available for Thursday's home tilt facing the Rangers. The injury list is a long one for the Buds as they currently have seven players on injured reserve, including a pair of defensemen in Jared Cowen and Stephane Robidas. While the Rangers generally don't draw a lot of penalties -- they're ranked 23rd with 8.58 PIM per game -- Loov, with his physical style of play, should give the Blueshirts another reason to stay tempered if he ends up in the lineup. He chipped in 11 points and 38 PIM along with a plus-12 rating for the Marlies ahead of the call-up.
