  • Mario Lucia: Headed for Europe

Lucia inked a one-year contract with Norwegian club Stavanger on Tuesday.

After serving out his entry-level deal with the Wild, Lucia will test his luck in Norway rather than continuing to play in the minors. The Notre Dame product was drafted by Minnesota with the 60th overall pick of the 2011 NHL Draft, but failed to ever crack the lineup with the organization. In 63 AHL contests last year, the Alaskan managed 22 points and 14 PIM. Barring an incredible turnaround overseas, this likely marks the end of Lucia's chances of playing in the NHL.

  • Devils' Mario Lucia: Brought in via trade

Lucia was acquired by the Devils -- along with Christoph Bertschy -- from the Wild in exchange for Viktor Loov.

Lucia was drafted by Minnesota in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft, but never made an appearance for the team. A four-year player for Notre Dame, the 24-year-old has notched six goals and nine helpers in 40 games with AHL Iowa. The winger will head to AHL Binghamton, where he will likely spend the remainder of the season.

  • Wild's Mario Lucia: Cut from camp

The Wild released Lucia (shoulder) from training camp Friday.

The 2011 second-round pick was a solid contributor for AHL Iowa last season, notching 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 44 games, but he'll likely need to make a bigger impact in the minors before he'll get an opportunity to make his NHL debut.

  • Wild's Mario Lucia: Remains sidelined

Lucia (shoulder) was still recovering from his broken clavicle when AHL Iowa was eliminated from playoff contention, ending his season.

Lucia managed nine goals and 13 helpers prior to getting hurt, but was unable to return in time to help either AHL Iowa or the Wild in the postseason. The winger will likely begin the 2017-18 season in the minors, but could get the occasional call-up during the course of the campaign.
