East Tennessee State has removed Murry Bartow as its men's basketball coach, a source told CBSSports.com on Thursday afternoon.

A formal announcement is expected soon.

Bartow was at East Tennessee State for 12 seasons. He made three NCAA Tournament appearances in that span. The last came in 2010.

The Buccaneers finished 16-14 this season.

They were 8-10 in the Southern Conference.
