Moniak (hand) took swings prior to Friday's game against Houston and could return to the Angels' lineup Saturday, per MLB.com.
Moniak hasn't swung a bat in a game since Sept. 15, though he did enter as a pinch runner against the White Sox on Wednesday and took four balls in a plate appearance later in the contest. Manager Ron Washington said the outfielder was slated "to do some serious swinging" Friday, and how Moniak rebounds from that session could determine whether he's ready to return to the lineup Saturday. Jordyn Adams (knee) has covered center field for most of Moniak's absence, though Kevin Pillar manned the position Friday upon his return from the injured list.
