Starling was non-tendered by Kansas City on Wednesday.

The 2011 first-round pick received his first taste of the majors over the past two seasons, but the Royals are now opting to go in a different direction. Starling enters free agency with a .204/.246/.298 slash line through his first 91 big-league contests.
