Cardinals' Aaron Brooks: Contract selected

Brooks' contract was selected by the Cardinals on Friday.

The 31-year-old impressed enough in camp to earn a spot despite his poor 6.49 ERA in 170.2 career innings at the MLB level. He's had far more success in Korea over the last two seasons, cruising to a 2.79 ERA in 229.1 frames. He could compete for a back-end rotation spot or serve as a long reliever.
