Chase Anderson: Becomes free agent

The Red Sox released Anderson on Thursday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Anderson was not claimed off waivers after being scrubbed from the Red Sox' 40-man roster, and he has opted to test out free agency rather than accept an outright assignment. The veteran swingman holds a 4.85 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB over 52 innings in 2024.
