Cubs' Tom Cosgrove: Gets new opportunity

Cosgrove was designated for assignment by the Padres on Sunday but will now offer the Cubs bullpen depth. He has pitched primarily in the minors throughout his career, though he has maintained a 3.95 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 66 big-league frames.
