Betts said Wednesday that his right hip has felt good early in the offseason, and he doesn't expect to require surgery, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Betts missed about a month between July and August while battling a hip issue, but he was an everyday player across the final month of the 2021 season. Although the right fielder will undergo at least one more checkup this winter to monitor the issue, he looks as though he'll be in line for a relatively normal offseason.
