Giants' Ray Black: Designated for assignment

Black was designated for assignment Sunday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Black suffered an elbow injury during the 2016 season and posted a horrendous 22.4 percent walk rate over 31.1 innings at Double-A Richmond. He'll likely open the season there again if he passes through waivers.
