Gosuke Katoh: Heads to Japan

Katoh signed with the NPB's Nippon Ham Fighters on Friday, Kyodo News reports.

Katoh reached the majors for the first time in his age-27 season, appearing in eight games for the Blue Jays. He recorded one hit and worked a trio of walks in 11 plate appearances. It's possible he takes his game to another level in Japan and eventually returns to North America, but nothing in his minor-league resume suggests a major breakout is coming.
